Mediation is a way for people to settle a dispute without having to go to court. It is confidential process and legally binding. The benefit of mediation is that the parties themselves negotiate to reach a settlement of their dispute.
Our principal lawyer Helen Glass is a trained mediator. She assists parties to resolve their dispute in a non-confrontational environment where the parties feel comfortable about raising their issues of concern and working towards a resolution together.
At the successful conclusion of the mediation, Helen will draft a written agreement which is called the "Terms of Settlement" to be signed by each party.
Both parties must agree to the mediation and enter into a costs agreement with us. Mediations may be held at a separate venue such as the Law Institute of Victoria (booking fees may apply) or elsewhere organised by the parties.
Costs are $350.00* per hour for all mediations held within the Melbourne CBD. Please contact us for mediation services outside of this area.
*This does not include mediation venue booking fees if applicable.
